This collection contains receipted bills, canceled checks and bills concerning the Hallowell Farm in Montgomery County, Maryland. There are also bills with prices for early telephone service, carpet weaving, carriage construction, livestock, farm supplies, food, lumber and milled flour.

Major portion of the collection is business papers, bills, receipts, etc. 12 small volumes of accounts, 1879-1894, some of the accounts concern farming at "Pleasant Plains".
